I used to be afraid of the dark.I still am sometimes. It seems to harbour unseen demons, things that seem to lurk just beyond sight, yet things that are somehow always there.Know that feeling?I’ve known it since the ninth grade(thanks, friends for making me watch all those horror movies!).But that was a long time ago.Now I notice that the darkness seems rather welcoming. When there’s no one to talk to, the dark is always there. When you have no one to hug, the darkness stands in front of you with open arms. It’s very easy to be lulled to sleep by the quiet sounds of the dark.Sometimes, in the darkness, one doesn’t even feel lonely anymore. As for demons,I have enough to conquer in my mind. The darkness helps relieve all of that.Keats was so right when he wrote Ode to a Nightingale. So maybe I’m not afraid of the dark anymore…

About keatslover

I'm an avid Keats fan( as is pretty obvious, I'm sure) and a student of English Literature. I love to read and to write and to dance. I'm just an ordinary teen from India who wants a platform to express how she feels about things. In short, I need to get my voice out there. Hope all the readers like what i write. And hope that there are readers.
